Gifts By Personality : For Him

So you haven’t got his Christmas presents yet? Well, advent is officially here (if you’re feeling lucky, check out our advent calendar – we’ve got 25 prizes to give away) so the countdown is on to get your Christmas shopping all wrapped up. Unlike women who tend to either bombard you with hints or just simply present you with receipts of what you’ve got them for Christmas, men can be a little more difficult to buy for. If you’re stuck for ideas, work out which personality best describes him and then follow our gift guide to find out exactly what he wants for Christmas.

Whether he’s organising a weekly game of 5-a-side or hanging out at the driving range, the Sportsman loves to keep active. What he ultimately wants is a renewed subscription to Sky Sports and a season ticket – but it wouldn’t hurt to get him some extra essentials. A simple Lacoste polo is a winner, passable for the golf club and great for wearing with jeans for when he’s feeling casual. If his trainers are starting to look a bit worn treat him to a new pair from Luke 1977. Stocking fillers are a must, opt for the Hilfiger Denim Flag Cap and a 5 pack of socks from Jack and Jones.

His haircut is reminiscent of Oasis circa 1995 and he’ll be happy to remind you about the band he was in at school – The Modern Man takes his style inspiration from a mixture of Phil Daniels in Quadrophenia and Paul Weller. Don’t waste your money on the latest trends, what this guy wants is heritage brands in classic cuts that he can wear forever – if you want to really impress him, spoil him with a Pretty Green Parka. Anything from Weekend Offender is sure to go down well, we choose the Admit Nothing t-shirt as a perfect add-on present to the Parka. For a few extras, you can’t go wrong with accessories; a Fred Perry classic Barrel Bag will always come in handy and once you’ve bought him a Pretty Green Paisley scarf he’ll wear it with everything.

The Tech Head will always brag about his latest gadget and knows his way around the App Store – when you’re just getting round to installing the latest update on your phone, he’s already upgraded his handset twice. If you’re not a fellow tech head, there’s no point in trying to get him a gadget this year – instead, get him some accessories to make the most of the gadgets he already has. We suggest a Marvel tablet case, a Pretty Green iPhone case and some Blomor Bluetooth Gloves which allow you to make phonecalls with your hands! Why not add a new Watch to his stocking if you’re feeling generous?

A man that doesn’t know the meaning of ‘skint’ and appreciates the finer things in life – a luxury lover is a hard one to please come Christmas time! He’s got plenty of style and he sticks to designer labels, choose some indulgent gifts to make his day this year. Like most men, he’ll be expecting a new set of boxers in his stocking, choose the Hugo Boss 3 Pack for some premium quality. If he’s been especially good this year, treat him to a 100% merino wool jumper from DKNY (p.s. it’s on sale!) – for some added extras pick up a luxury perforated card holder from Mi Pac and a new belt from Armani Jeans.

He’s got a constantly expanding Instagram following and he knows how to get onto every guest list – the Trendsetter is always a few steps ahead of you. Impress him this year with some new arrivals from our favourite streetwear brands that are sure to become the go-to pieces in his wardrobe for 2015. A Question Of is the ethical brand which boasts organic cotton t-shirts and sweatshirts – pick up the Desire Crew Sweatshirt with contrasting sleeves and embroidered design, match this with a t-shirt from board sports newcomer, Legends of the Street and he’ll be wishing it could be Christmas every day! If you need some ideas for stocking fillers – get him a backpack from the Mi Pac Gold Range or beanie from the Kangol & Disney collaboration.
